A vintage Cartier orb pomander/ snuff pendant with a smooth secret compartment inside and locking top twist cap. This 18k yellow gold sphere features intricate engine-turned style designs. The incredible texture almost creates an optical illusion when the locket is turned and scatters light in the sun. This is such a a vintage designer treasure.
The entire pendant weighs 17.4 grams and measures 25.5 x 36 mm, a large and lovely size. The orb is weighted perfectly; when the lid is removed, the orb balances on its bottom easily.
Signed Cartier on the triangular bail, and maker marked on the inside "JC" Jacques Cartier with UK hallmarks. It's beyond special and very rare.
