A sweet and lovely Victorian period brooch in the shape of a butterfly with jagged wings, studded all over with turquoise cabochons. The base of the brooch is silver, and the turquoise cabs range in color from forest green to classic blue-green. The shape of the butterfly resembles a mourning cloak butterfly, with its jagged edged wings and blue dots; it could also be a white admiral butterfly.
The brooch is 8.7 grams and measures 23.2 x 38.2 mm.
