Circa 1860s. Gold and silver, 37.6 grams. Set with approximately 40 carats of old cut diamonds, including the largest stone weighing approximately 5.5 carats, followed by four principal stones of approximately 2.0, 2.20, 2.6, and 2.6 carats, graded in the J–K color range with VS–SI clarity. The diamonds are arranged in traditional basket settings, allowing each stone to sit open and full of light while maintaining a cohesive, graduated composition across the neckline.
The necklace measures approximately 16 inches with an extender for adjustability. It remains entirely original, including the diamond-set clasp. The extender chain allows for subtle length variation while the piece sits naturally and fluidly on the neck.
