Victorian diamond heart pendant in silver topped gold with beautifully scalloped openwork throughout. A full face of antique old mine cut diamonds, approximately 11 carats total, set in a radiating heart motif with depth, movement, and that unmistakable old stone fire. The openwork allows light to pass cleanly through the piece, giving it life from every angle and real presence on the body.
Measures approximately 60 x 40 mm with strong scale and balance. Weighs 13.2 grams. The diamonds show a mix of hand cut character with broad facets and natural variation, exactly what you want to see in a jewel of this age. Not the original bail, later conversion from a brooch to a pendant, done to allow it to be worn and enjoyed.
