An extraordinary and exceptionally rare Art Deco creation by the celebrated French jewelry house Maboussin, combining exceptional jewelry design with the ingenuity of a concealed timepiece. Crafted entirely in platinum, this incredible piece features a stylized rooster beautifully set with diamonds, its sweeping curves and geometric details capturing the unmistakable influence of the Art Deco period. Suspended beneath the rooster is a series of articulated diamond set links leading to a square watch case, its reverse decorated with an elaborate diamond set starburst. The case flips to reveal the original engraved dial, an ingenious construction that allows the watch to be worn as a jewel while keeping the timepiece discreetly concealed on the reverse.
Beyond its remarkable craftsmanship, this piece carries extraordinary historical significance. The actual jewel was featured on the cover of an original Art Deco Maboussin advertisement, providing a direct connection to the house during one of its most celebrated periods. Numbered and bearing French punch marks, it is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Maboussin in 2010. An exceptionally important example of French Art Deco jewelry and watchmaking, combining documented provenance, inventive mechanics and the distinctive design language that made Maboussin one of the great Parisian jewelry houses.
Crafted in platinum, weighing 27.3 grams and measuring approximately 70 x 21 mm in total
