This blinged-out ring dates back to the Georgian era, and is covered in colorless, faceted rock crystals; the term "minas novas" (or "new mines" in English) refers to a municipality in Brazil where the Portuguese discovered said stones. These crystals became a jewelry trend in Portugal in the 1700s, where many of the stones were crafted into fine jewelry, often set in gold or silver. This ring is a classic example of the minas novas trend, with 39 pieces of rock crystal set in sterling silver on a 19ct yellow gold shank/band. This beautiful piece of history has a top that measures 24 x 20 mm, and a 1.8 mm band.
