An extraordinary Georgian acrostic pendant dating to the 1820s, crafted in rich 18k yellow gold with intricate cannetille detailing and a wonderfully sentimental meaning. Acrostic jewelry became especially fashionable during the Georgian period, with gemstones carefully selected so that the first letter of each stone spelled out a secret message. It spells DEAREST, using Diamond, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, and Turquoise. A wonderfully romantic expression of affection, with each gemstone representing a letter in a message meant to be treasured by its recipient. The elaborate cannetille goldwork is particularly impressive, featuring delicate twisted gold wires, fine granulation, and intricate decorative details that were painstakingly executed by hand. This style of goldsmithing is so representative of the period, with its rich texture and incredible craftsmanship. Nearly 200 years old, this is a fabulous example of Georgian sentimental jewelry with wonderful history and meaning.

This pendant is crafted in 18k yellow gold and weighs 4.5 grams. It measures 23 x 20 x 7.5 mm, excluding the bail. Each of the seven gemstones measures approximately 2.5 mm
