A bewitching pair of earrings from the late Victorian period, fashioned from 18k yellow gold and dazzling old mine cut diamonds. They give the impression of either stars, flowers, or comets with their dangling tails.
These earrings consist of two distinct parts- the flowers can be worn alone, and each starburst contains 7 diamonds that have an estimated carat weight of 0.50 carat, or 1.0 carat for the pair. The stars are 13.8 mm in diameter, and have lever backs for extra security.
The dangles hook onto the lever backs, and can be removed for daytime or added for a night out; the diamonds are bezel set with milgrain details, and each dangle is approximately 0.90 carat, or 1.8 carats for the pair. This brings the total estimated weight of all the diamonds to an estimated 2.8 carats. All the stones have open backs, and the earrings have nice articulation to multiply the movement and sparkle.
The earrings are about 2" long with the dangles attached, and the pair weighs 8.9 grams.
