These incredible antique diamond drop earrings are made in 18k gold and silver with the kind of old-world construction and movement that makes this pair so special. Each earring is set with a substantial antique pear cut diamond suspended beneath two chunky old mine cut diamonds, creating a graduated three-stone drop with gorgeous movement on the ear. The pear cuts weigh approximately 2.00 and 1.70 carats, graded approximately J–L / VS, with an additional approximately 1.66 carats of old mine cut diamonds, bringing the total diamond weight to approximately 5.36 carats.
The diamonds are set in silver-topped settings with 18k gold backs and leverback fittings, a classic antique construction used to keep the face of the settings bright while retaining the strength and warmth of gold behind them. The old cuts are full of broad flashes and irregular hand-cut facets, and the pear shapes have that slightly fuller antique outline that gives them so much presence. Measuring approximately 46 x 20 mm and weighing 6.2 grams, they have substantial scale without losing their elegant movement.
