The color on this antique French plique-à-jour pendant is incredible. Rich blue enamel fills the center design, surrounded by bright green and red enamel worked into a detailed geometric pattern, all framed in warm 18k yellow gold. The open center adds even more dimension and lets the light come through the enamel the way plique-à-jour is meant to be seen. These antique French pieces are modeled after actual cathedral and church stained glass windows. I believe the very centerpiece is missing with only fragments left behind.
