An incredible example of early Boucheron dating to circa 1870–1880, a period from which surviving jewels by the house are exceptionally rare. This spectacular spiked diamond collar features approximately 13.25 carats of beautiful old cut diamonds set in silver topped 18k gold. The graduating spikes and substantial old diamonds create a fantastic design with the craftsmanship and attention to detail associated with early French fine jewelry.

What makes this piece particularly special is its original convertible construction. Worn as a 14-inch diamond collar, separated into two individual 7-inch bracelets, or assembled as a diamond tiara, each configuration offers a completely different look. The transformations are achieved through multiple original Boucheron fittings, including the tiara mount.

Finding Boucheron jewelry from the 1870s is rare in itself, but to have a jewel of this quality retaining its original fitted box and complete convertible fittings is particularly special. A remarkable example of the technical ingenuity and exceptional workmanship of the house during its earliest decades.

Crafted in silver topped 18k gold and weighing 35.4 grams, with approximately 13.25 carats total weight of old cut diamonds. The collar measures 14 inches and converts into two 7-inch bracelets or a tiara. French assay eagle head punch marks on both diamond bracelet tabs.
