This circa 1860s Victorian is truly striking antique star brooch with an estimated 5.22 carats of insane old mine cut diamonds! The VS-SI clarity, G-I color OMC diamonds are set in perfectly oxidized silver with 18k gold backing and removable pin. The center diamond is massive, and on its own comprises an estimated 1.68 carats of the full 5.22 carats. All the stones have open backs to allow the light to play with the facets.
The oxidized silver makes the white diamonds pop beautifully, and a bail can be added to wear this as a pendant, for an additional fee. This piece has French hallmarks on the pin fixture. The entire star is 37 mm in diameter and has a lovely curve to emphasize the huge center diamond. A true stunner showstopper!
