A beautiful locket in the shape of a globe- this piece used to be a full globe, but lost its back half sometime in its 100+ year long lifespan. I think it works great as a half-globe, as the flat back allows it to sit flush when worn on a chain- the locket compartment is also still intact and ready to hold a photo or other memento. The enamel design on the globe is quite faded in places, but the impression still remains. The entire piece has a 15.8 mm diameter and the full height of the dome is 9.15 mm. The locket weighs 3.2 grams and still contains an original fabric backing and glass.
