An incredible antique diamond horseshoe pendant dating to the late Victorian period, made in silver-topped gold and completely packed with chunky old cut diamonds. The horseshoe is built in two distinct rows, with graduated old mine and old European cut diamonds set through the inner curve and individual floral-style diamond clusters running around the outer edge. The openwork construction underneath is beautifully made and gives the piece real depth, while the darkened silver setting creates strong contrast against the old stones. The reverse shows the warm gold construction and hand-finished gallery, with a simple gold jump ring at the top for wearing from a chain, ribbon or antique dog clip.
