Stuart Crystal Ring Antique 17th Century Jewelry

A museum worthy piece not only because it’s very nice condition, but also the clear full skeletal motif enclosed. Skillfully crafted in the Stuart Period, with an estimate date of the 1670’s. The top of the band is gorgeously chased 18k gold with floral designs which hold some remaining black enamel. The scalloped bezel underside has remnants of blue enamel. The central quartz crystal is beautifully faceted on the top with a flat bottom, similar to a rose cut gem. The amazing artistry encased under the crystal consists of plaited hair, gold wire and enameled wire depicting a full skeleton holding a heart, or flaming heart, and the initials IB or JB.

This item is historical and to be worn with care and no be exposed to water.
