Georgian Enamel Mourning Band Circa 1800

Black enameled mourning band with accents of white enamel concentric rings featuring the memorial which reads, “Sarah Heelis ob 8 May 1800 aet 74“. Sarah Heelis was the wife of John heelis, the Skipton Castle in Yorkshire, England. This ring is in very good condition for it’s age. The hallmarks are; the lion passant from London, the letter ‘E’  for years 1800-1801. The makers mark of ‘WH’ possibly for William Holmes and a duty mark of the monarch’s head.
