Family Roots

My Great Grandfather began work as a hand engraver in 1917, as he refined his work he studied antique jewelry. He was very skilled in his craft and a knowledgeable, well respected individual in the jewelry community. He was known for doing antique appraisals for Tiffany & Co. and many New York based jewelers during this time.

Looking at this photo makes me smile. As an infant I was attached to my mama, and I didn’t like anyone, but I liked him. Funny how the bond of kindred spirits works! Now many years later I work on the same antiques he worked on, restored and appraised. I love that this is part of my family roots. I know I am exactly where I’m supposed to be, and that some things are meant to be.
